• Memo on obtaining the health certificate from the regulatory body

    Dear/ Importers of frozen and processed vegetables and fruits

     

    Asharqia Chamber presents its best greetings to you, and would like to inform you of receiving the letter of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority No. (58455 / GS) dated (26/9/1439), which pointed out that in pursuit of management in achieving the objectives and values of the strategic plan of the Authority that the health of the community is priorities in ensuring safe and effective food by working to reduce the proportion of pesticide residues in food.

     

     The Authority has already informed the regulatory authorities in the countries (Pakistan, Turkey, Tunisia, South Africa, Lebanon and India) through diplomatic channels that Saudi Food and Drug Authority as of (1/7/2018) requires that the shipments of frozen and processed vegetables and fruit should be accompanied by a health certificate from the regulatory body in accordance with the approved form of the Authority, in addition to a laboratory examination report from an accredited laboratory showing the results of the examination of pesticide residues and compliance with the limits allowed in accordance approved by the Saudi Food and Drug Authority in the Kingdom.​
